KING ME

Turtle gets his crown! On his way,
BIG turtle! We should have in package
pics any day now. This guy is to scale
with the giant Bossy Bear figure.
Good luck finding those! I will ask
Toy2R to make more!
At a special shop near you.
Or far away.
Giant Robot will have some!

NEW KAIJU ON THE WAY

The new 15 year anniversary issue
of Giant Robot is out and it's a
good one. Looking for an escape
from the posers who still insist
on spinning it without working
for it? This is it. AND nice people.
How rare is that!

Aha but inside you will find
this guy, our new Kaiju
coming from Japan this fall.
More on that soon.
My favorite Ugly ad so far
in this issue as well.
I'm pretty sure I owe them
the new one any day now.
Yikes!

We thought we found a
new home until we did an
online search and found
the area had tons of
registered offenders of
the worst kind all around,
so we looked and looked...
finally found our first home.
Still being built but this will
be the Kaiju spray paint room
out in the garage!

Facebook! Be our friend on facebook.
We are listed under David Horvath,
the one with this icon.
We don't do the chat thingy though,
as all of our facebook action is
through the phone.

Woah! The Palm Pre is RAD!
I'd been on a blackberry since
May because I basically had to run
the show from the car for 6 weeks,
but now that we've settled things
down a bit more, Sun-Min and I
switched to this phone. We aren't
usually tech freaks but this
phone is awesomeness x 100000.
We highly recommend! It gets
the very rare official Sun-Min
and David stamp of approval.
Why? Yeah, we are really bad
at product reviews, but we're
just having way more fun with
this than any other phone
so far. Hey and now that we've
bought our first home, my hobby
has shifted a bit from buying toys to
saving moola, so just fyi in the
long term, the palm
pre is cheaper than many of
those other dope fresh devices.
Works great with itunes, too!
CHECK IT OUT!
No they didn't pay us.
But they can if they want.
Aha!
No no just jokes.

HANG WITH UGLY

UGLY HANGERS! The awesome folks
at Playimaginative will release Ugly
cel phone toys/zipper pulls this
August at the Singapore Comic
Convention, and we will start to
ship them in the USA soon after.
Phones in the USA lack the hole
found on 99% of the cel phones
in Asia, but you can hang these
guys on just about anything.
Photos here on this blog soon!

SHOW TIME

Monday means time to head out to
the next trade show in Palm Springs.
Then it's time for Comic-Con!
This year our booth will have
glow in the dark Ice-Bat action
figures and one special edition
Ugly plush. My favorite one yet.
Oh and watch out for fake Ugly
plush on ebay. Some really bad
ones up.
Smack down on the way.

We've been getting a few emails
asking what sort of tech we use
at the office. I'm no Leo Laporte,
that's for sure. I know how to use
maybe 30% of whatever device I'm on.
I am still running the show out of
a hotel room for now, mostly from a
Blackberry. My first generation
iphone seemed to get slower
and slower so I recently
switched to this one, keeping
baby pictures on an ipod.
I love this phone x 10000.
Ever listen to the Tech Guy
show with Leo Laporte?
I know so little about the
stuff he's covering, as we
use macs, but I love his
energy and positive
spirit. Makes for fun
freeway rides on the
weekend.

SUSHI CHANGER

WOAH! The new Shinkenger guy's
goods have hit in Japan and now
our hotel room. Biwa time!
The sushi changer plays traditional
tunes when you press the silly
buttons. Then you can use his
ninja knife to cut fresh fish.
Dope fresh fish.

AWAY FROM MY DESK

I have fallen WAAAAY behind on work.
For the first time since we started this
back in late 2001, I am not getting work done.
So behind, an entire book deal may fall apart.
So I have been slow to post here as well.
I am quite sure everyone is upset or wondering
where I am as their emails go ignored and
pressing issues or project due dates fly by.
We have been house hunting for 3 weeks now
and may have found something. Super
stressful but fun also. We had no clue we'd
be looking, but somehow all ended up in
LA together. Mina got a cheapo low end
camera for her birthday so she has been
documenting the entire ride. Which is
good as I left mine in Korea thinking I
would be back after a few days.
If we have yet to reply to your emails
please hang in there, we love you still.
Or to you bad guys, we still don't love you.
Will reply asap either way.

Had a nice night off at the J.Otto opening
at GR2. Something to hang up at the new
home office, wherever that may be.

UGLY JACKET

Not long ago we had a few bomber and
letterman jackets made for internal
use, mostly to be worn during
trade shows by our team. Well turns out we
made 1 or 2 extras in each size
(to meet the minimum? I forget why.)
and so we have decided to make
the rest of the green letterman
jackets available at the San Diego Comicon.
We only have 1 or 2 in each size,
from Small to XXL. They are sized
a wee bit small. I wear an XXL in
the Ugly Jacket but I usually go L or XL
in regular store bought jackets.
More info soon! Such as price etc.
